John Whisler mans the blue line for '09 Blue Army.

The Favorite: Euro American Red

A 5-4 win over the Lake Superior Stars gave Euro American Red the title at this year's The Big One Invitational, a fitting finish for a group that went 5-1 throughout the tournament. It's also worth noting that the team posted shutouts in its first three games of The Big One, pointing to strong defense and goaltending.

Players to Watch: Adam Marganeau, Rylan Fryxell, Mark Steinessen (G), Harrison Betker (G)

Keep An Eye On: Blue Army

Blue Army surrendered the third-fewest goals in its age group during The Big One, allowing just 15 goals in five games. Both losses for Blue Army came against the teams that battle for the division's championship in Euro American Red and the Lake Superior Stars.

Players to Watch: Gavin Godbout, John Whisler, Chase Crowley

Don't Forget About: Breakaway, Minnesota Skeeters, Midwest Mustangs Green

The remaining teams in the field all have a shot to jostle the standings throughout the weekend and should provide some exciting games.

'09 Euro American Red should make some noise at this weekend's AAA State Tournament.
