2010: Minnesota Bronzebacks 5, Grey Ducks 3

It was the matchup the entire 2010 Division was anticipating.

The Minnesota Bronzebacks dueled with the Minnesota Grey Ducks in the 2010 Division championship game, a battle of both undefeated teams and wildlife native to the State of Hockey.

In this bout of nature, sea topped sky.

The second period proved to be the difference for the Bronzebacks (a type of smallmouth bass), who recorded three goals in the second frame en route to a 5-3 win over the Grey Ducks, paced by Cam Marshall’s goal and two assists. Henry Zirbes, Johnny O’Shea, and Henry Meier also scored in the win for the Bronzebacks, with Meier being chosen as tournament Most Valuable Player after totaling 11 goals and 14 points in five games. Austin Ariola, J.J. Bauer, and Owen Ouska each scored once in the loss for the Grey Ducks.
