2008: MN Generals 4, Euro American Red 3

With a roster populated by several players who skated last summer for the Minnesota Icemen, the Minnesota Generals did their best Ulysses S. Grant impression on Sunday, taking home the 2008 Division crown again with a 4-3 win over Euro American Red.

Despite EAR’s Logan Lutner tying the game with just 2:07 remaining in regulation, the Generals found a hero in the form of Cody Kronberg. Kronberg launched a shot from the point on a power play that found twine with 21 seconds left in the third period to earn the win for the Generals. The game was a party for Kronberg thrown for himself, as the shifty skater added three assists to his goal for a game-high four points. Boomer Demars scored a goal and added a pair of helpers, while Connor Schubert and Quinton VeDepo added single goals. Tournament MVP Ryland Demars was held scoreless in the final for the Generals but earned a point in every other game the generals played and finished with 12 total points.

Dylan Dean of Euro American Red led the division in scoring with eight goals and 16 points and scored a goal and handed out two assists in the loss. Luke Smith and Logan Lutner scored EAR’s other two goals on Sunday.
