A crazy two weekends of hockey to kick things off in class 1A. East Grand Forks and Orono played a tight game in week one. And then, defending state champ Cathedral got beat by Warroad at the Gardens on Friday night. Saturday, this ranker was handed a 3-0 win by St. Paul Johnson over Thief River Falls (who beat Roseau earlier this year). How cool is that at city conference team has the players and tools to make a run this year.
Mahtomedi gets the early nod at #1, considering how tough their schedule is, they will likely fall. Not one team has jumped out yet (except maybe Warroad...lol).
