Katie Davis scored two goals in Edina's 4-1 win over Minnetonka.

Class 2A Rankings

1. Andover (9-0)

More of the same from the Huskies, the cream of the crop rolls to three wins over the last week. The Huskies have outscored their Northwest Suburban Conference opponents by a combined score of 55-3 in six games.

2. Edina (6-1)

The Hornets jump back into the top two based on an impressive week, beating top-10 teams Minnetonka, Hill-Murray, and No. 1-1A Breck. Through seven games, the Hornets have not allowed more than one goal in a single contest.

3. Blake (7-1-1)

The Bears would have remained No. 2 had Edina not gone on its run. A 12-4 win over Elk River/Zimmerman showed the Bears' might, but a 13% success rate on the power play leaves some concern.

4. Forest Lake (6-1)

Back to business as usual for the Rangers with a pair of wins over Park of Cottage Grove and Mounds View as Forest Lake resumes its blitz of the Suburban East Conference after the hiccup against East Ridge. Ally Goehner earned shutouts in both victories last week, running her season total to five in seven games.

5. Minnetonka (5-2)

The Skippers can't drop very far, given their talent and resume. In addition to the loss to Edina, the Skippers defeated Benilde-St. Margaret's 6-1. In both of Minnetonka's losses this season, the Skippers have scored exactly one goal.

6. Maple Grove (7-0-1)

The Crimson remain undefeated after a 4-3 nail-biter win over Anoka/Spring Lake Park last week. Goaltender Brooke Cassibo continues to impress between the pipes, boasting a save percentage of .940, tops in the Northwest Suburban Conference. Dates with No. 10-2A Wayzata and top-ranked Andover loom for the Crimson.

7. Eden Prairie (6-1-1)

Eden Prairie and Maple Grove could arguably share the No. 6 slot, but the Eagles draw seventh for this week. Wins over Chaska-Chanhassen and North Wright County stretch Eden Prairie's winning streak to three games, and the Eagles have played in only one match that was decided by more than two goals.

8. Brainerd/Little Falls (6-2)

The Warriors picked up a trio of wins last week, scoring four goals in each game. An important Section 8-2A matchup with Roseau is on deck for the Warriors, who bested the Rams twice during the 2018-2019 regular season.

9. Hill-Murray (6-3-1)

A 3-1 win over then-No. 9 Wayzata pushes the Pioneers back into the top-10, just in time for three consecutive conference games. After the Metro East run, the Pioneers will begin the Herb Brooks Holiday Classic Tournament.

10. Wayzata (7-3)

Despite the loss to Hill-Murray, the Trojans have a chance to jump back up the rankings with wins or exceptional showings against upcoming opponents No. 2-2A Edina and No. 6-2A Maple Grove.

Lily Delianedis leads the No. 3-2A Blake Bears in scoring with 29 total points.

Class 1A Rankings

1. Breck (9-2)

New week, same Mustangs. A 6-1 loss to No. 2-1A Edina was closer than the scoresheet makes it out to be, and Breck followed that up with wins over Cretin-Derham Hall and Alexandria.

2. Warroad (7-3-1)

The Warriors bagged wins over Class 1A opponents South St. Paul and Northfield after suffering one-goal losses to Class 2A foes Elk River/Zimmerman and Wayzata. In addition to their gaudy ranking, the Warriors feature the state's leading scorer in Hannah Corneliusen. The Merrimack commit has 23 goals and 33 points this season.

3. Rochester Lourdes (5-3)

The Eagles dropped a 4-3 decision against Benilde-St. Margaret's before edging No. 5-1A Simley 5-3 to snap a three-game losing skid. The Eagles have been particularly good in the second period this season, outscoring opponents 19-7 in the second frame.

4. Mound Westonka (7-1)

Now 7-1, the Whitehawks downed New Prague 5-2 and Orono 6-3 last week. Mound Westonka has won four consecutive games since falling to Northfield 6-3 on Nov. 16.

5. Simley (5-2)

The Spartans take their turn in the revolving door of Class 1A's No. 5 ranking. After knocking off then No. 5-1A Mahtomedi, the Spartans played No. 3-1A Rochester Lourdes tough, losing to the Eagles 5-3 while giving up an empty-net goal. Netminders Hailey Ries and Ava Patnode have combined to allow just seven goals in 10 games for the Spartans.
