Andover has faced a gauntlet of PWAA teams in the last two weeks, falling to Rosemount, Eden Prairie, and Stillwater. Even with the losses, the Huskies have proven they can score, going toe-to-toe with high-powered Shakopee in a 7-7 tie on Nov. 30.
Chaska-Chanhassen had its eight-game winning streak snapped in a 6-5 loss to Minnetonka on Dec. 11, but that doesn't discount the run the Stormhawks were on prior to the defeat. A tough District 6 slate should have Chaska-Chanhassen prepared for a tournament run.
St. Louis Park has won five of its last seven games, giving the Orioles a rush of momentum heading into the weekend. Three of the Orioles' four losses have been by two goals or less. St. Louis Park has outscored its opponents 101-49 this season.
Entering the weekend, Stillwater has won five straight games, including eight wins in nine contests. The lone loss in that stretch was a 7-6 defeat at the hands of Duluth East.
Omaha (NE) offers a sense of mystery to the pool, being a team that virtually none of the other teams have a book on.
