Forest Lake goaltender Ally Goehner now has 12 shutouts this season after posting two blank sheets last week.

Class AA

1. Edina (20-1)

The Hornets defeated Lake Conference rivals Wayzata and Eden Prairie last week to run their winning streak to 18 games. The win over the Eagles was made more impressive because it came by shutout, with Uma Corniea making 27 saves to earn the black sheet.

2. Andover (19-1)

Andover had its Friday game against Grand Rapids/Greenway canceled.

3. Minnetonka (16-4-1)

Despite being upset by North Wright County by a score of 2-1, the Skippers remain No. 3 after rebounding with a 9-1 win over Hopkins/St. Louis Park. The Skippers will play once more at home this season before finishing with three road games.

4. Maple Grove (16-4-1)

A win over then-No. 8 Holy Family Catholic pushes Maple Grove from No. 6 to No. 4, and the Crimson also won two other games last week for a three-win stretch over the past week. Since a 1-4 stretch in late December, the Crimson have won six straight games.

5. Eden Prairie (14-6-1)

The Eagles had their five-game winning streak snapped in a 3-0 loss to Edina last week. Senior forward and Minnesota State commit Sydney Langseth scored three goals and added an assist in the Eagles’ 5-0 win over Hopkins/Park on Jan. 14, giving her 26 goals and 54 points for the season. Langseth’s 54 points are tied for fourth-most in the state.

6. Forest Lake (16-4)

Three consecutive wins and two shutouts for Ally Goehner give the Rangers a perfect week since the last batch of rankings. With those two shutouts in hand, Goehner has 12 for the season, and with five games to go has a chance to break the single-season record of 16, set by Blaine’s Jody Horak during 2000-2001 season. Goehner now has 20 career shutouts after last week.

7. Blake (12-5-1)

After losing to rival Breck for the first time since the 2015-2016 season, the Bears thumped Grand Rapids/Greenway 8-0 to help kick off the Hockey Day Minnesota 2020 festivities. Forwards Addie Burton and Lily Delianedis combined for six of the team’s eight goals in the win over Grand Rapids/Greenway, with Burton adding a pair of assists for five total points.

8. Roseau (12-5-2)

Roseau crushed Bemidji 10-0 in its lone game last week, powered by a seven-point performance by Kayla Santl and a six-point outing for Anika Stoskopf. The Rams’ highly-anticipated matchup with fellow Class 2A, Section 8 power Brainerd/Little Falls that was scheduled for Friday, has been postponed.

9. Holy Family Catholic (17-4)

A 3-1 win over Mound-Westonka gives the Fire 17 wins for the season, the most in the program’s young history. The 2-1 loss to Maple Grove is the second one-goal loss of the season for the Fire, with the first coming on Nov. 12 against Hill-Murray.

10. Stillwater (16-4-1)

The Ponies continued their impressive season under first-year head coach Mira Jalouso with a pair of wins over Irondale/St. Anthony and Roseville over the past week. Four Ponies have recorded 31 or more points this season, and eighth-grader Josie St. Martin is primed to reach the 30-point plateau within the next game or two. St. Martin has 12 goals and 29 points as of Monday, Jan. 20.

Minnetonka's 2-1 loss to unranked North Wright County was assuaged by a 9-1 trouncing of Hopkins/Park.

Class A

1. Breck (16-4)

January in Minnesota is cold. Water is wet. Breck is No. 1 in Class 1A.

The Mustangs scored their first win over Blake for the first time in five seasons by a score of 5-4 in their only game last week.

2. Warroad (17-3-1)

Paced by state’s scoring-leader Hannah Corneliusen, the Warriors rattled off three wins last week by a combined score of 21-2, including a 9-0 thrashing of 2018-2019 Class 1A State Tournament participant Rochester Lourdes. The numbers also prove that Warroad has been dominant on the scoreboard this season, outscoring opponents 149-41 through 21 games.

3. Proctor-Hermantown (13-8)

Wins over Cambridge/Isanti/Mora/Pine City and Hibbing/Chisholm push the Mirage’s record to 13-8, and the team has won six of its last seven contests. Tuesday’s battle with No. 3-1A Cloquet-Esko-Carlton promises to be a dandy in the northland.

4. Cloquet-Esko-Carlton (18-2)

Could this be the week that it stops? The Lumberjacks’ winning streak is now at an absurd 17 games after beating Hibbing/Chisholm and Eveleth-Gilbert last week, but they'll face No. 3-1A Proctor-Hermantown on Tuesday night. The Lumberjacks hit the road for three consecutive games before finishing the regular season with games at home against Bemidji and Thief River Falls.

5. South St. Paul (13-4-1)

Previous No. 5-1A Chisago Lakes took it on the chin last week with a 9-2 loss to St. Paul United, paving the way for the Packers to take over at No. 5. Since a 4-2 loss to Eagan, the Packers have won four straight, including a critical win over Section 4-1A rival Mahtomedi.

Olivia Mobley and her Breck teammates picked up the program's first win over Blake since the 2015-2016 season last week.
