Farmington vs. Andover (2), 11 A.M.

In the absence of last year's leading scorer Claire Enright, Sam Moehle has been one of the Farmington players to fill the offensive void.

Farmington enters its second consecutive Class 2A State Tournament with a record of 18-10, finishing the regular season and easing through the Section 1-2A bracket with a record of 7-2 in the Tigers' last nine games. Half of the Tigers' 18 victories have been decided by two goals or less this season.

With Farmington's most potent offensive weapon, sophomore forward and Minnesota verbal commit Claire Enright undergoing season-ending surgery in January, junior defender Jayden Seifert has taken control of the Tiger offense. The Minnesota State verbal commit scored three goals and added eight assists during the section playoffs to run her season totals to nine goals and 30 points. In addition to Seifert, the Tigers have gotten quality offensive production from sophomore forward Sam Moehle (13-14-27) and junior forward Sadie Long (14-8-22).

Defensively, junior goaltender Ryleigh Furlong has played over 1,300 minutes for the Tigers, posting a record of 16-10 and a .895 save percentage this year.

Meeting the Tigers in the first round is the offensive powerhouse known as Andover. The Huskies romped their way to a 25-2 record while outscoring their opposition by a staggering 167-26 through 27 games. Spearheading the offensive effort has been senior forward, and Minnesota State commit Jamie Nelson (26-40-66) and junior forward, and Minnesota verbal commit Peyton Hemp (25-28-53). While Nelson and Hemp aren't the only Huskies to make significant contributions on the stat sheet, there are simply too many Andover skaters to list. 14 members of the team have recorded 10 or more points this season, while Amanda Pelkey has turned in a 23-2 record, 1.04 goals-against-average, .938 save percentage, and nine shutouts.

Pelkey is one of five finalists for the Senior Goalie of the Year Award, while Nelson was nominated as a Ms. Hockey semifinalist.

With a strong playoff performance of two goals and six points, freshman Ella Boerger could be one of Andover's secret weapons during the state tournament.
