Burnsville vs. Edina (1), 6 P.M.

Burnsville scrapped its way out of a crowded Section 3-2A, where the Blaze upended the No. 2 seed Eastview before edging fourth-seeded Eagan 3-1 in the section final. The Blaze (19-7-2) get a point in its favor by showing an ability to win the close game in the postseason, taking its section quarterfinal and semifinal by one goal in each game.

Junior goaltender Maria Widen has been an integral piece of the Blaze's postseason run, stopping 65 of 69 shots during the section playoffs, while sophomore forward Sami Bowlby leads the team in scoring with 19 goals and 27 points. Joining Bowlby in the scoring lead for the Blaze is senior forward Aubrey Nelvin (10-17-27) and sophomore forward Katie Katzmarek (12-9-21).

What is there left to say about this Edina team?

Coming off back-to-back-to-back state titles, the Hornets dropped their first game of the season at home, falling to No. 2 seed Andover 1-0. That's been the only blemish for Edina (26-1), which has won 26 straight games in dominant fashion.

The Hornets have outscored their opponents 114-18 through the section finals, running through a gauntlet that includes the Lake Conference and arguably the state's most robust section in Section 6-2A, which includes Wayzata, Blake, and Benilde-St. Margaret's. Among the individuals providing the Hornets with seemingly unlimited firepower are junior forward and Penn State verbal commit Emma Conner (29-22-51), junior forward and Harvard verbal commit Hannah Chorske (18-3—28), and senior forward and Minnesota commit Tella Jungels (12-29-41).

With numerous scoring options at the forward position, it can't be ignored that the Hornets have one of the best defenders in the state, regardless of class, in Vivian Jungels. The sophomore, who's verbally committed to Minnesota, has recorded 14 goals and 44 points from the blue line and has been a mainstay since her freshman season.
