FINAL: Lifetime Sport 5, Lake Superior Stars 2

While the Lake Superior Stars hung around for periods two and three, scoring twice, it wasn't enough to overcome a 4-0 deficit after the first frame.

Lifetime Sport set the Farmers Union Arena on fire in period one and then nurtured the flames for two stanzas en route to a 5-2 win and the 2009 Division championship. Pacing the scoring effort in the first was Riley Klava, who pocketed two goals within 90 seconds of the opening draw. Caleb Deanovich and Reed Smith added one goal apiece to send Lifetime Sport into the second with a 4-0 lead.

Gabe Swenson briefly stopped the bleeding with a second-period goal for the Lake Superior Stars, but Lifetime Sport's Connor DeBoer answered this tally just under six minutes later. Gunnar Schock would add one more score for the Stars early in the third period.

Lifetime Sport's Connor DeBoer earned Tournament MVP honors not only for his timely hat-trick in the semifinals, in which Lifetime Sport knocked off the red-hot USA Kings, but for his outstanding defensive play as well.
