FINAL: SDP Elite 5, Warriors 4 (OT)

If Sunday's 2008 Division final had only consisted of Parker Trottier and power plays, I could stop typing.

But it didn't, and I can't, because SDP Elite rallied from a 3-0 deficit to edge the Warriors 5-4 in overtime.

Trottier recorded a pure hat trick in the first period, scoring all three times with the man advantage, sending the game into the second from just two scores away from a running clock. Whatever was said on the SDP Elite bench during the sixty seconds between frames must have clicked, because after seesawing for nearly all of the second, Dylan Dean and Liam Schultz pulled SDP Elite within one at 3-2.

A.J. Francisco scored early in the third to tie the game, then scored again late in regulation to tie the game 4-4 after Warriors skater Kane Johnson put his team up 4-3.

A wraparound attempt by Mikey Berchild in overtime turned into a centering pass of sorts, and SDP Elite's Victor Plante buried the loose puck to capture the crown.

Parker Trottier earned Tournament MVP honors, scoring four goals in the semifinal round before his hat trick in the title game.
