Rogers 2, Eden Prairie 1

In its most complete game of the young season, Rogers edged Eden Prairie 2-1, getting two goals from Brock Cheslock and pumping nearly 30 shots on net to capture the White Bracket championship on Sunday morning. 

The Royals fell to Wayzata 6-1 in the tournament’s opening round, then rattled off three straight victories, rolling past Austin 9-0 and Farmington 4-0 before Sunday’s win over the Eagles. Hudson Kottke led the Royals in scoring with two goals and seven points, followed by Cheslock, who concluded the tournament with five goals and six points. 

Eden Prairie’s road to the White Bracket final included a tough first-round loss to Blaine by a score of 5-3 before wins over Rochester PWA 6-1 and Spring Lake Park 8-1. Max Dessner paced the Eagles with a goal and seven points, while Cole Pitzl and Jack Peterson recorded five and four points, respectively. Goaltender Bennett Wilmer stood on his head throughout the weekend, especially in Sunday’s loss.
