Emma Conner, Edina

2. Edina

2019-2020 Record: 28-2

2019-2020 Finish: Class AA State Tournament (runner-up)

While graduation peels away a handful of talented players from the Edina lineup each year, the Hornets will retain Head Coach Sami Reber, who means just as much to the Edina program's success as the players do.

Senior forward Emma Conner (31-24-55) is back and in the hunt for Ms. Hockey, as is senior forward and Harvard commit Hannah Chorske (18-36-54). Holding down the Hornets' blue line is ultra-talented junior, and Minnesota verbal commit Vivian Jungels (15-34-49). Jungels was one of the highest-scoring defenders last season, and recorded at least one point in all but two games last season for the Hornets.

Edina will also benefit from a transfer, adding former Breck phenom Hannah Halverson, a product of the Edina Youth Hockey Association. Halverson recorded 15 goals and 45 points last season for the Class A state champion Mustangs, and should slot in the top-six right away for the Hornets.

It feels like she's been here forever, but goaltender Uma Corniea is just a sophomore. The two-time state champion with Breck put up top numbers in goal last year, her first with the Edina high school program. Corniea put up a 24-2 record, a 0.77 goals-against-average, and a .964 save percentage in addition to 11 shutouts for the Hornets in 2019-2020.
