Lilie Ramirez, South St. Paul

4. South St. Paul

2019-2020 Record: 20-9-1

2019-2020 Finish: Class A State Tournament (lost in consolation finals to Hutchinson)

The Packers made their first trip to the state tournament since the 2014-2015 season, ending a run of Section 4A dominance by the former St. Paul United cop-op. The majority of last year's team is back, which bodes well for the Packers' chances of making a second straight appearance.

A team that runs a fair amount of their offense through its defenders, the Packers have two of the state's best in junior Lilie Ramirez (15-27-42) and senior Makenna Deering (11-26-37), who are committed to Minnesota State and Bemidji State, respectively. Heading up the forward group is senior Ella Reynolds (19-27-46).

Eleven of the team's 20 wins last season were by two goals or less, which is a testament to the outstanding play of sophomore goaltender Delaney Norman. Norman has proven to be one of the top goaltenders in Class A over the last two seasons, starting for the Packers since the eighth grade. Norman played virtually every minute last season, earning six shutouts.
