Woodbury Black's Beckett Shillings celebrates after scoring the eventual game-winning goal against Moorhead Red on Sunday.
Woodbury Black's Beckett Shillings scored the eventual game-winning goal with 1:06 remaining in regulation to give the Predators a 1-0 victory over defending champion Moorhead Red on Sunday afternoon, giving the Predators their first win at the YHH Squirtacular in tournament history.
Shillings was named Tournament MVP for his performance over the weekend, recording three goals and six points in four games. While Shillings didn't finish near the top of the scoring table, his presence was felt on the ice every shift, as he roamed all three zones in his capacity as a defender, forward, puck-carrier, point guard, or shooter.
The goal spoiled a solid game for Moorhead Red's goaltender Will Arnold, who, along with defenseman Drew Kortan and forward Joey Cullen, was named to the All-Tournament Team. For Woodbury, forwards Chase Crowley and Gavin Godbout earned all-tournament honors in addition to Shillings.
