It only took nine seconds, but Hermantown's Kolby Hedley netted the game-winning goal in overtime for the Hawks and sewed up Tournament MVP honors at the same time.
Hedley's goal with 3:51 remaining in overtime was his eighth of the tournament, and earned the Hawks the crown in the Squirtacular Gold Division. Luke McDonald scored the other goal for the Hawks in the win. Kolton Japor scored the lone goal of the game for the Bengals.
While Hedley's goal won the game, the performance by Blaine goaltender William Sadler cannot go unmentioned. Sadler stopped 34 of 36 shots and almost literally stood on his head to give the Bengals a fighting chance throughout the game.
