(5) Eastview (15-4-2) vs. (4) Stillwater (19-2-1)

Eastview has won five straight games and seven of its last eight contests, rolling through its Section 3-2A opponents Hastings (5-0), Rosemount (5-1), and Apple Valley (5-1). Two of the Lightning’s four losses this season have been by a single goal.

The duo of junior forward and Yale verbal commit Avery Chesek (22-14-36) and senior forward and Franklin Pierce commit Mikayla Kelley (15-20-35) currently lead the Lightning in scoring, with junior defender Nora Stepan (7-21-28) providing some juice from the blue line. Goaltender Angie Lombardi has played all but 17 minutes of the season, recording a GAA of 1.66, a save percentage of .938 and five shutouts.

After dropping a pair of games to unranked opponents, Stillwater has rattled off nine consecutive wins, including a 1-0 victory over defending Section 4-2A champion Hill-Murray in last week’s section championship. 10 players have tallied 10 or more points for the Ponies, led by freshman forward Josie St. Martin’s 20 goals and 46 points.

St. Martin teams with senior linemates Lexi Huber (27-12-39) and Morgan Wohlers (14-24-38) to form a potent top unit for the Pony offense. Goaltenders Sophie Cronk and Lily Timmons have split time evenly this season, with Timmons posting a 24-save shutout in the win over Hill-Murray.
