1 PM: Luverne vs. (3) Proctor/Hermantown

Reaghan Bork, Luverne

Quarterfinal Two: Luverne (16-4) vs. No. 3 Proctor/Hermantown (18-0)

The Cardinals boast two of the state’s leading scorers in sophomore Kamryn Van Batavia (47-40-87) and junior forward Reaghan Bork (28-41-69) and have scored 10 or more goals in a game eight times this season. A seven-game winning streak helped propel the Cardinals into their second straight state tournament appearance, and the Big South Conference runners-up outscored those seven opponents by a combined score of 56-5.

Third-seeded Proctor/Hermantown typically plays one of the more difficult non-conference schedules in the state, but the Coronavirus pandemic limited teams to playing a predominantly conference/area slate in 2021.

The Mirage has responded with 18 consecutive victories, winning all 18 games by two or more goals and sending a roster to St. Paul that includes eight players with 25 or more points. Leading the way offensively is senior forward Alyssa Watkins (17-21-38), sophomore forward Nya Sieger (14-21-35), and senior forward Macy Sieger (14-21-35). Goaltenders Abby Pajari and Vivi Helquist have split time equally this season, combining for eight shutouts.
