Grace Peterson, Mound Westonka

Quarterfinal Four: No. 5 Mound Westonka (14-2) vs. No. 4 Chisago Lakes (18-2)

Mound Westonka has won five straight games since dropping back-to-back contests against Chisago Lakes and Holy Family Catholic earlier in the season. The Whitehawks’ power play has been a consistent threat this year, clicking along at a success rate of 37.5% (9/24). Senior forward Grace Peterson is the Whitehawks’ co-leading scorer with 19 goals and 32 points, tied with sophomore dynamo Sydney Leonard (18-14-32).

Peterson is committed to the Naval Academy for her post-prep career, where she will play lacrosse. Senior defender and Lindenwood commit Brooke Pioske (6-15-21) was named to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune’s All-Metro Third Team.

For the first time since 2006, the Breck or Blake programs will not be represented at the Class 1A State Tournament. The team that broke that trend (officially) resides at Chisago Lakes High School, where the Wildcats are making their first trip to the big dance since 2012. The Wildcats have one of the most productive top lines in the state, regardless of class.

Led by senior forward, Minnesota Duluth commit, and Ms. Hockey finalist Jenna Lawry (28-25-53), junior forwards Dani Burgen (24-25-49), and Dani Brunette (12-19-31) have given opposing teams first all season. Burgen is verbally committed to Minnesota State, and Brunette has verbally pledged to Minnesota Duluth.
