The second and third periods may only have been echoes of a cannon-blast first frame, but the residual noise was more than enough to put a bow on another AAA State Tournament. 

The 2008 Minnesota Generals and 2009 Minnesota Blades Elite raced out to an eight-goal first period, with the Generals carrying a 5-3 advantage into the second.

Cristian Hernandez scored twice for the Generals in the first, with single goals coming from Ryland Demars, Jimmy Egan, and Nate Chorlton. Reed Smith and Beau Christy tallied the two goals for the Blades Elite. 

Chorlton and Boomer Demars scored once each in the second period, cementing the win for the Generals with a full period to play. 

Cristian Hernandez earned Tournament MVP honors after registering multiple points in four of five games, including a two-goal, three-point performance in the final.
