Benilde-St. Margaret's at Andover, Nov. 11 (7:00 PM)

Sara Kaiser, Andover

This game should be a terrific Class AA tilt between last year’s Class AA State Tournament runner-up in the Huskies and the always-dangerous Knights. Andover lost a lot with the graduations of Peyton Hemp and Gabby Krause, but the Huskies have battle-tested experience at forward with juniors Ella Boerger (27-30-57), Madison Brown (18-17-35) as well as senior Sara Kaiser (16-18-34).

Between the pipes, the Huskies will look to junior goaltender Courtney Stagman, who was stellar (16-1, .50 GAA) for Head Coach Melissa Volk last season.

Benilde-St. Last season, Margaret’s made some noise before being stopped in the Section playoffs by eventual Class AA state champion Edina. While they lost three Division-I bound defenders, the team returns seasoned veterans up front led by seniors Emma Hoen (5-10-15) and Mary Zavoral (10-6-16). Over the offseason, Hoen committed to Lindenwood, and Zavoral pledged to St. Thomas. The offense is balanced by a solid defensive corps, led by Ohio State commit Emma Peschel (8-9-17).

The biggest question mark for the Knights will be who takes over for graduated 2020 Senior Goalie of the Year Finalist Carly Greene. Senior Allie Van Stelten would appear to have the inside track, but she had just two starts last year, so it might be a game-time decision for Co-Head Coaches Kelly Pannek and Kevin Gray. Talented junior Mia Rooney and rising sophomore Demetra Walsma round out the roster’s goaltending trio.
