A battle between Class A Mahtomedi and Class AA White Bear Lake should be an interesting clash of two east metro clubs with young rosters. Mahtomedi returns with last year’s leading scorer in senior Karen Miller (11-5-16) to go along with sophomore Victoria Nelson (five goals) and freshman Regan Berglund (6-8-14). Zephyrs’ head coach Bill Mauricio will look to sophomore Ella Heath to hold the fort with the majority of the goaltending load for Mahtomedi.  

White Bear Lake also returns with a young team that featured a mind-boggling 19 eighth and ninth graders last season. Up front, the Bears are led by last year’s leading scorer in junior Ellie Sarauer (8-9-17), sophomore Gabby Hofeld (7-3-10). Sophomore Zoe Timmons led Bear defenders with eight points, and the Bears will lean heavily on her experience with a young blueline.

Between the pipes, Bears’ Head Coach Elsa Shorey will look to junior Maya Marston, who played over 800 minutes last season for the Bears.
