Moose Lake Area at Cloquet-Esko-Carlton, Nov. 23 (7:30 PM)

Dana Jones has three points in three games for Cloquet-Esko-Carlton.

This should be an interesting I-35 battle that might tell us more about the trajectory of both of these teams. The Rebels (3-0) are coming off a 6-2 win over Litchfield / Dassel-Cokato on Saturday. Moose Lake Area is led at forward by freshman Hallie Klavu (2-6-8), who had a solid game against the Dragons with a goal and two assists, sophomore Megan Hattenberger (2-3-5), and sniping sophomore Gracie Hartl (5 goals). Rebels’ head coach Reilly Fawcett will most likely give freshman goaltender Mallory Hartl (1.33 goals-against-average) the start against the Lumberjacks.

The Lumberjacks (1-2) are coming off a 4-1 loss to Orono. Cloquet-Esko-Carlton has multi-sport athletes leading the way at forward, with seniors Marina Dostal (3-1-4), committed to the University of Wisconsin- Superior for tennis, and Dana Jones (1-2-3), who is a Winona State softball commit for softball. Head Coach Courtney Olin has split starts between junior goaltenders Roena Diver (.889 save percentage) and Araya Kiminski (.852 save percentage), so likely it will be a game-time decision.

Sandra Ribich, shown here playing in YHH's Summerfest tournament, has two goals and four points for Moose Lake Area.
