This is a Big South Conference battle as the Bulldogs and Cardinals face off for the first time this season. The Bulldogs are coming off a 3-0 loss to Delano/Rockford on Saturday. Minnesota River is led at forward by junior Adrianna Bixby (3 goals, 1 assist, 4 points) as well as senior Anna Pavlo (1-1-2) and Callie Voeltz (1-1-2). Senior defense Lucy Kleschult (1-1-2) is the Bulldogs' workhorse on the blueline. Head Coach Madison Bergren will likely give senior goaltender Amilia Messer (.922 save percentage) the task of shutting down the Cardinals.  

The Cardinals are hoping after losing 10-0 to Big South rival Luverne. Forwards sophomore Isabella Larson leads Fairmont's attack (2-6-8) and leading sniper in senior Mackenzie Householder (6-0-6), junior Hannah Goerndt (2-1-3), and 8th-grader Brooklyn Murphy (2-1-3). Head Coach Ashley Olson has so far split starts between goaltenders junior Hadley Artz and senior Rachel O'Connor, so it could very well be a game-time decision as to who works the crease for the Cardinals.
