This is a big-time Class AA battle between last year's Section 7AA champion Andover and last year's Section 8AA champion Moorhead. The Huskies are coming off a 4-3 win over Roseau. The Huskies are led up at forward by juniors Gavyn Thoreson (1-4-5) and Elk River-transfer Cayden Casey (2-2-4), as well as senior Hudson Zinda (2-1-3).

Senior defensemen Kyle Law (2-1-3) and Weston Knox (recently profiled by The Hockey News) will be trusted to help out at both ends of the ice. Head Coach Mark Manney will have to choose which of two senior goaltenders, Austin Brauns or Owen Peterson, will start against the Spuds.  

The Spuds are coming off a 5-2 loss to Maple Grove. Moorhead is led up front by seniors Carson Triggs (1-1-2) and Gavin Lindberg (1-1-2), as well as junior Aaron Reierson (1-1-2). Junior defenseman Joe Schiller (0-2-2) does his best to make life difficult for opposing skaters.

Head Coach Jon Ammerman is still trying to figure out which goaltender will be his ace as he has split starts between senior Jacob Vannett and junior Oliver Judd.
