Grand Rapids-Greenway at Proctor/Hermantown, Dec. 9 (7:00 PM)

Izy Fairchild, Proctor/Hermantown

This is a Lake Superior Conference clash that should be an excellent indicator game. Grand Rapids/Greenway (5-2) suffered a setback in a 2-1 loss to Shakopee on Saturday. The Lightning is led up front by freshman scoring machine Mercury Bischoff (16-6-22), junior Kalle Reed (8-8-16), sophomore Molly Pierce (0-13-13), who give them plenty of offensive punch.

Juniors lead the way for Grand Rapids/Greenway's defense corps with Jazzy Bischoff (0-5-5) and Hannah LaFreniere (0-3-3), as well as sophomore Allie LeClaire (1-7-8). Thunder Head Coach Brad Hyduke will have to choose whether to give senior goaltender Makenzie Cole (.949% save percentage) or decide to give sophomore Riley Toivonen her first start this season.

The No. 4-1A Mirage (2-3-1) is coming off a 4-2 loss to Champlin Park/Coon Rapids this weekend, and they have a clash against arch-rival Duluth on Tuesday. Proctor/Hermantown is led at forward by juniors Nya Sieger (5-6-11) and Reese Heitzman (2-4-6), as well as sophomores Hannah Graves (3-3-6) and Izy Fairchild (4-1-5).

Junior defender Ava Anick (1-1-2) will be tasked to slow down the Lightning offense. Mirage Head Coach Emma Stauberwill likely tab senior goaltender Abby Pajari (.913% save percentage) to get the start.
