Edina at Minnetonka, Dec. 10 (7:00 PM)

Hannah Halverson, Edina

This is a big Lake Conference showdown between two powerhouse teams in defending state champion No. 2-2A Edina (5-0) and No. 3-2A Minnetonka (6-1). The Hornets' have passed every test so far, and they will get another two challenging teams this week when they play Benilde-St.Margaret's on Tuesday and follow it up against the Skippers.

Edina's forward group is led by seniors, including Ohio State commit Berit Lindborg (4-5-9), Princeton commit Jane Kuehl (5-2-7), as well as junior Ellie Chapman (5-1-6) and sophomore Hannah Halvorson (3-4-7). Their power play is operating at a 38.9% rate right now. On defense, senior Wisconsin commit Vivian Jungels (3-9-12) and St. Thomas commit Haley Maxwell (1-4-5) to shut opponents down while supporting Edina's attack.

Head Coach Sami Reber will likely give junior and Princeton commit Uma Corniea (0.75 goals-against-average).

Minnetonka has a busy week of its own as they play Shakopee on Tuesday before Edina arrives at Pagel Ice Arena on Friday. The Skippers are led up front by a trio of juniors with Minnesota-Duluth commit Grace Sadura (12-7-19), Minnesota commit Ava Lindsay (4-10-14), and Minnesota commit Elly Klepinger (3-6-9). On defense, Andover transfer and Minnesota commit Josie Hemp (6-7-13) and senior and Sacred Heart commit Olivia LaRoche (4-5-9) like to jump into the play.

The Skippers' 86.1% penalty kill will undoubtedly be tested against Edina, although the best bet may be to stay out of the penalty box altogether. Minnetonka head coach Tracy Cassano will likely give senior goaltender Sophia Johnson (.924% save percentage) the start against the Hornets.
