Cretin-Derham Hall at St. Thomas Academy, Dec. 21 (7:00 PM)

Drew Fisher, Cretin-Derham Hall

This is your high-profile private school showdown between two teams hoping to make a case that they're contenders in Class AA. The Raiders lost to the Cadets 4-3 on Nov. 27th, so this is a big opportunity for Cretin-Derham Hall to rectify that earlier result.

Cretin-Derham Hall looks to seniors Drew Fisher (6-5-11) and Luke McCarthy (4-6-10), as well as juniors to carry the Raiders' offense, including Northern Michigan commit Jake Fisher (4-7-11) and Atilla Lippai (3-7-10).

On defense, senior Jake Sondreal (2-4-6) and junior puck-mover Simon Houge (1-4-5) are a big reason the Raiders' penalty kill is operating at a 93.1% rate. Raiders' head coach Matt Funk will probably give senior goaltender Marko Belak (1.83 goals-against-average) the start against the Cadets.

The Cadets are coming off a painful 6-0 loss to Hill-Murray on Saturday, which means they'll feel pressure to answer back against Cretin-Derham Hall. St. Thomas Academy is led up front by senior Tyler Grahme (5-6-11) and juniors Zach Howard (5-3-8) and Tommy Cronin (1-6-7). On defense, senior Tommy Stattine (0-4-4) and sophomore Will Skahan (0-4-4) help keep opponents in check.

St. Thomas Academy head coach Trent Eigner has split starts this season between senior goaltender Matt Schoephoerster (.912 save percentage) and junior Tyler Magozzi (.860 save percentage).
