Hill-Murray at White Bear Lake, Dec. 23 (7:00 PM)

Axel Begley, Hill-Murray

Here is your classic 4AA matchup of two arch-rival schools that are never in short supply of animosity for one another. The Pioneers are coming off a convincing 6-0 victory against St. Thomas Academy.

Hill-Murray's attack is led by senior and Wisconsin commit Dylan Godbout (4-7-11) and junior Brady Ingebritson (4-3-7), as well as the speedy senior Anthony Madigan (4-3-7). On defense, seniors Leo Gruba (2-6-8) mentioned by the Hockey News and Axel Begley (1-5-6) are a big reason the Pioneers have yet to allow a power-play goal this season. Hill-Murray head coach Bill Lechner will undoubtedly start senior goaltender Nick Erickson (2.01 goals-against-average), also mentioned by the Hockey News.

White Bear Lake is coming off a 7-2 rout of St. Cloud over the weekend. To right the ship, the Bears will lean on its forwards in  sophomore Nolan Roed (4-2-6), junior Charlie Olsen (4-3-7), and seniors Tyler Bishop (3-5-8), and Tyler Kotzmacher (4-2-6). On the blueline, junior Joe Belile (1-5-6) and 6-foot-3 junior Grady Gallatin (1-5-6) try to make life miserable for opponents as well as helping support White Bear Lake's attack.

Bears' head coach Tim Sager has split starts between his two senior goaltenders, Jackson Kohnen (3-1 record) and Nicholas Pettman (.898 save percentage), but I would guess Kohnen gets the opportunity against Hill-Murray.
