Holy Family at Blake (Dec. 28, 11:00 AM)

Maddie Kaiser, Holy Family

This should be a terrific tilt between two west metro private schools. The Fire is coming off a 6-2 win against a tough Alexandria team.  #8 ranked Holy Family is a defensively responsible club that does a terrific job limiting scoring chances. Their 85.2% penalty kill is an excellent example of this. Up front, the Fire is led by a pair of seniors in University of Minnesota commit Maddie Kaiser (9 goals, 9 assists, 18 points) and Dartmouth commit Shae Messner (6-5-11), as well as junior and St. Thomas commit Maddy Helmstetter (3-4-7) carry most of the load offensively for Holy Family.

On defense, senior and Brown University commit Maddie Morgan (3-6-9) and junior Olivia Paidosh(2-2-4) do a great job denying the middle of the ice. Holy Family head coach Randy Koeppl will likely give junior goaltender Sedona Blair (.937 save percentage) the start against the Bears.

Blake is coming off a 4-1 victory against a very skilled Benilde-St. Margaret's squad. The Bears' 22.2% power play has been their x-factor offensively this season. At forward, Blake is led by juniors, Dartmouth commit Ellie Morrison (17-11-28), Yale commit Suzy Higuchi (11-10-21), and playmaker Sam Broz (5-12-17).

On defense, senior and Brown University commit Julia Blum (2-9-11) logs a ton of minutes and does her best to quash opposing scoring chances. Bears' head coach Whitney Colbert has split starts between junior Abby Ziehl (.916 save percentage) and senior Molly Haag (.868 save percentage) so far this season.
