East Grand Forks at Hermantown, Dec. 28 (3:15 PM)

Grady Magner, East Grand Forks

This should be an excellent showdown of two top-level Class A programs as East Grand Forks hopes to rebuild some of its street credit with a game against #1 ranked Hermantown. The Green Wave is coming off a 5-2 loss to Class AA Bemidji.

East Grand Forks is led up front by junior and North Dakota commit Jaksen Panzer (13-11-24), and sophomore Grady Magner (4-7-11) try to carry the Green Waves' offense. On the blueline, junior Sam Frost (2-8-10) and senior Justin Overgaard (2-6-8) do their best to support the play at both ends of the ice. East Grand Forks head coach Tyler Palmiscno has split starts at goaltender between sophomores Lucas Wavra (2.51 goals-against-average) and Chase Mero (.838 save percentage) this season.

#1 ranked Hermantown suffered its first loss of the season in a 4-2 setback to #1 (Class AA) Cretin-Derham Hall. The Hawks are led up front by juniors Kade Kohanski (4-6-10) and Wyatt Carlson(5-3-8), as well as sophomore Max Plante (1-9-10).

Star forward and Minnesota-Duluth commit Zam Plante is out with an injury, but there is a lot of scoring throughout Hermantown's lineup. On defense, junior and Minnesota-Duluth commit Ty Hanson (3-7-10) is the Hawks' workhorse on the blueline. Head Coach Patrick Andrews will likely give sophomore Dane Callaway (.944 save percentage the start against East Grand Forks.
