Kittson County Central at Bagley/Fosston, Jan. 6 (6:00 PM)

This is the first meeting of these two Northwest Conference rivals in what should be a spirited game.

The Bearcats are coming off a 4-0 loss to New Ulm as part of the Fergus Falls Holiday Classic, where they went 0-3 in the tournament. Kittson Central is led at forward by the 1-2 punch of junior Tyler Hennen (15-15-30) and senior Landon Sugden (14-9-23), as well as Izyk Strege (6-7-13).

On defense, Hayden Olsonawski (0-6-6) and Ethan Hanson (0-4-4) try to keep things simple in their own end and let the Bearcats top line go to work. Kittson Central head coach Robert Carr has given goaltender Jameson Turner (.871 save percentage) most of the work this season.

The Flyers are hoping to build on the confidence from an 8-0 win over Redwood Valley after going 1-1 in two games at the Breckenridge/Wahpeton Classic over the holidays.

Bagley/Fosston is led at forward by senior Logan Merschman (8-6-14), and juniors Markus Olson (7-6-13) and Brecken Levin (2-8-10). On defense, Quinten Friborg (1-2-3) and junior Isaac Schemerhorn (2-0-2) do what they can to limit opposing scoring chances.

Flyers head coach Alex Jesness has used junior goaltender Kassandra Fontaine (.856 save percentage) all season thus far.
