Alexandria at Fergus Falls, Jan. 6 (7:15 PM)

Jordan O'Kane, Alexandria

This is a great Central Lakes Conference battle as two clubs hope to prevail in the first of their two meetings in the regular season this year. Alexandria is coming off an impressive 3-1 win over a dangerous Grand Rapids/Greenway squad.

The Cardinals are led at forward by junior Ella Westlund (3-5-8) and seniors Kaci Trosvig (4-4-8) and Hanley Block (6-2-8), but for the most part, are a score-by-committee club. On defense, seniors MaKenna Aure (3-2-5) and Riley Nyberg (3-1-4) help support at both ends of the ice. Alexandria head coach Molly Arola has split starts between senior goaltenders HaileeAnn Bailey (.931 save percentage) and Jordan O'Kane (.924 save percentage) this season.

Fergus Falls is coming off a 3-2 win over Robbinsdale Armstrong/Cooper. The Otters attack is led by the 1-2 punch of senior Piper Andrews (20-15-35) and junior Maddie Hulter (14-14-28).

On defense, seniors Gabby Brimhall (4-7-11) and Marilyn Karsnia (3-6-9) help the Otters transition quickly to offense. Fergus Falls' head coach Tim Lill has leaned on sophomore goaltender Ana Jyrkas (1.55 goals-against-average) most of the season.
