Minneapolis at Delano, Jan. 18 (7:15 PM)

Minneapolis Head Coach Joe Dziedzic has his team ranked in the top-10, coming in at No. 6.

Tuesday's game has all the makings of a terrific showdown between No. 6-1A Minneapolis and No. 5-1A Delano in what could very well decide who is the top seed in section 2A.

Minneapolis is coming off a 1-0 overtime victory over Section 2A foe Orono last week. They are led up front by seniors Jack Hanson (10 goals, 17 assists, 27 points), Zander Zoia (6-9-15), and Evan Grimm (7-4-11) shoulder most of the scoring.

On defense, junior Drew Pitts (6-10-16) and senior Leo Warner (2-2-4) log big minutes for Minneapolis and chip in at both ends of the ice.

Minneapolis Head Coach Joe Dziedzic joined Youth Hockey Hub's recent podcast to talk about his team. Between the pipes, senior goaltender Alex Lamont (2.04 goals-against-average) has been Minneapolis' workhorse this season.

Delano is coming off a 6-0 victory over Section 2A foe Hutchinson. The Tiger forwards are led by junior Will Brown (12-8-20), seniors Jesse Peterson (5-14-19), Gunnar Paulson (8-10-18), Anders Peterson (9-8-17), and Bruce Halonen (7-8-15).

Senior Craig Halonen (1-11-12) and junior Cole Schmidt (2-8-10) make the Tigers rather stingy on defense.

In the crease, Tigers Head Coach Gerrit Van Bergen has split starts between junior goaltender Drew Dorsey (2.03 goals-against-average) and senior Tommy Huotari (2.18 goals-against-average) this season.
