Wayzata at Roseau, Jan. 21 (7:00 PM)

Luke Miller, Wayzata

This is a great Class 2A battle between defense-minded Wayzata against a skilled, more offensively-focused No. 5-2A Roseau squad.

The Trojans are coming off a 3-0 victory over Lake Conference foe St. Michael-Albertville. Wayzata is led up front by senior Drew Streeter (8-13-21) and sophomore Luke Miller (12-7-19), who drive most of the Trojans' offense.

On defense, seniors Reece Gardner (3-8-11) and Evan Johnson (1-9-10) play a safe, defensively-responsible game.

In the net, the Trojans look to junior goaltender Will Ingemann (1.89 goals-against-average) to be Wayzata's last line of defense.

Roseau is coming off a 7-1 victory over Brainerd. The Rams are led at forward by seniors Max Strand (23-23-46), Gavin Gunderson (14-15-29), Kellen Murphy (9-26-35), as well as sophomore Noah Urness (13-21-34).

On defense, senior and St. Cloud State commit Thor Byfuglien (6-18-24) is the power-play quarterback and is a big reason the Rams are finding the back of the net at a 30.5% rate.

Between the pipes, senior goaltender Carter Christianson (2.44 goals-against-average) will likely start against Wayzata.
