Class AA

Andover's Courtney Stagman posted a shutout of Edina on Hockey Day Minnesota, further solidifying the Huskies' place at No. 1.

1. Andover (19-0)

The Huskies put a rubber stamp on a remarkable season thus far with a 4-0 thumping of Edina during Hockey Day Minnesota’s coverage from Blakeslee Field. They will not be moving from the top spot anytime soon.

2. Edina (18-2)

The Hornets mustered just five shots on goal in the first period of Saturday’s loss to Andover, their second defeat of the season for the Hornets, and not enough to knock them out of the No. 2 spot.

3. Minnetonka (16-4)

The Skippers have won three of their last four, with the lone loss coming against No. 2-2A Edina.

Since the previous batch of rankings, Minnetonka picked up wins over Eden Prairie 7-0 and Elk River/Zimmerman 5-3. The Skippers will face Farmington, Edina, and Blaine this week.

4. Holy Family (16-3-1)

A 13-1 win over Hutchinson and a 4-2 win over Blake move the Fire to 16-3-1 on the season. Maddie Kaiser and Taylor Koeppl each recorded five points in the win over Hutchinson, with Kaiser’s performance pushing her to the front of the Wright County Conference scoring race.

5. Benilde-St. Margaret’s (13-5-1)

After three more wins last week, the Red Knights have won nine of their last ten, and should remain one of the most dangerous teams down the stretch.

The Red Knights have dates with Bloomington Jefferson and Chaska/Chanhassen this week on Thursday and Saturday, respectively.

6. Maple Grove (14-5-2)

The Crimson have now won four straight, and six of their last seven, after beating Centennial/Spring Lake Park, Elk River/Zimmerman, and Blaine last week.

On paper, the Crimson should be favored in their next four games, with Armstrong/Cooper and Anoka on deck for this week.

7. Wayzata (14-6-1)

This week, the Trojans defeated Lake Conference rival North Wright County and former top-10 team Blake, moving up the rankings.

This week, the Trojans will take on No. 2-2A Edina and Eden Prairie, both fellow members of the Lake Conference.

8. Rogers (15-4-2)

Make it three straight shutouts for Rogers, as the Royals earned wins over Osseo/Park Center and Buffalo last week.

Anoka and Elk River/Zimmerman are on the docket for this week for the Royals. The matchup against the Elks is intriguing, given that the Royals escaped with an overtime victory in the teams’ last meeting on Jan. 11.

9. Lakeville South (19-2)

Lakeville South topped Dodge County and Prior Lake before having its 19-game winning streak snapped in a surprise 3-1 loss to unranked South Suburban Conference rival Burnsville.

The Cougars have conference games against Apple Valley and Lakeville North as the Cougars attempt to maintain their top spot in the South Suburban.

10. Burnsville (16-4-1)

The Blaze indeed burned the candle at both ends last week, winning a 12-6 track meet with Apple Valley and then handing Lakeville South its first loss in 19 games.

Next week for the Blaze is a continuation of the South Suburban Conference tour, with games against Shakopee and Rosemount scheduled for Thursday and Saturday.

Sami Bowlby had a goal in Burnsville's 3-1 win over Lakeville South on Saturday.

Class A

Simley's Ella Sanders (17) scores during the Spartans' upset-win over Blake last week.

1. Warroad (16-2-1)

The Warriors faced Moorhead in their lone game last week, playing the part of rude hosts with a 3-2 win over the visiting Spuds.

No strangers to metro matchups, the Warriors will make the trek to Andover on Thursday in a battle of No. 1-ranked teams.

2. Orono (17-2)

The Spartans competed an impressive week with three victories since the last batch of rankings, beating Class 2A Eastview, No. 5-1A Holy Angels, and then handing Waconia a 13-1 loss.

Senior forward Iyla Ryskamp has been on fire lately, writing her name into the Orono record books as the program’s new career-leading scorer. After the Waconia game Ryskamp, officially passed the 200-point plateau.

3. Simley (16-4-2)

Hello, again, Simley. Nice to have you back.

The Spartans continued their strong season last week, picking up wins over then-No. 8-2A Blake and previous No. 4-1A Mound Westonka.

The Spartans have been one of the most pleasant surprises during the 2021-2022 season, and have a shot finishing the regular-season slate with 19 victories.

4. Proctor/Hermantown (13-6-1)

A pair of metro opponents yielded zero ground to the Mirage, as Proctor/Hermantown fell to No. 2-2A Edina 1-0 and sub-.500 Eden Prairie 2-1.

The loss against Edina is understandable and was expected, but losing to the 8-13 Eagles, however, spirited the affair on enemy ice, was a disappointing surprise.

The Mirage will look to get back on track against Moose Lake Area this week before hosting No. 1-2A Andover.

5. Holy Angels (16-4-1)

The Stars took two of three games last week, beating Visitation and Chaska/Chanhassen, but falling against No. 2-1A Orono.
Favored in their last four games, the Stars have a chance to conclude the regular season with 20 wins, a sizable accomplishment for the young lineup.

Orono's Iyla Ryskamp has officially passed 200 career points for the Spartans after last week's games.
