Commentary

No major movement this week within Class A. Warroad gets shut out by Wayzata, but stays at #2. Minneapolis climbs to number four after another solid section win this last week. Northfield grabs the often hard to handle ten spot this week. The Raiders are 9-4-1, but have not lost to an A school this year.

Commentary

In the first-ever installation of the Junior Gold A YHH Staff Rankings, Edina sits atop the rankings by a pretty wide margin. The Hornets are the clear number one team in the state at 16-1-1 with the one loss coming to number five Rosemount. The Hornets also have only allowed 1.27 goals per game… talk about stifling defense and a brick wall goalie. Wayzata is at number two, for now, they don’t have any amazing wins, but they take care of business when they play lower-quality opponents. The Trojans are a JGA dynasty and always have a very talented squad - this year is no different. Two of their four losses are to the number one Hornets. Number three Minnetonka is just behind Wayzata in the rankings, and that sets up for a huge match this week. The Skippers scored three goals two different times against the very good defensive team in Edina. Number five Rosemount has a signature win that put them into the rankings- they are the only team to beat the number one Hornets. Interesting storylines heading into the last couple of months of the season

Commentary

Hill Murray stands out from the rest of the teams as of now. The Pioneers have outscored opponents 122-11 in 18 games played. Moorhead and Edina (Black) are close behind Hill Murray; all three of those teams are still undefeated. After the top three, the rest of the teams are all fairly close in the rankings. A lot will get sorted out in the following weeks. Happy to get the groundwork laid down in these first-ever JGB Staff Rankings.
