Wadena-Deer Creek at Detroit Lakes, Jan. 27 (7:00 PM)

This is an intriguing matchup between section Section 6A Wadena-Deer Creek and No. 7-A Detroit Lakes out of Section 8A. The Wolverines are coming off a 7-3 loss against Northern Lakes.

Wadena-Deer Creek is led up front by a trio of juniors Cole Woods (19-16-35), Connor Davis (16-14-30), and Aron Sutherland (6-16-22).

On defense, junior Dalton Moyer (3-11-14) and Aiden Sutherland (4-9-13) give the Wolverines a lot of stability on the back end.

In the crease, sophomore goaltender Gunnar Olson (.875 save percentage) has carried all of the goaltending load for the Wolverines this season.

The Lakers are coming off an 8-0 win against Prairie Lakes. Detroit Lakes looks to forwards like seniors Spencer Bergman (10-17-27), Beau Boehne (13-9-22), and Jordan Fields (7-11-18).

On the blueline, junior Jordan Thomas (6-12-18) and freshman Tommy Suckert (1-7-8) do a great job limiting scoring chances, and in Section 8A against teams like Warroad and East Grand Forks, that's impressive.

Between the pipes, the Lakers split starts this year between senior goaltender Elijah Blow (2.32 goals-against-average) and junior Josh Mack (1.33 goals-against-average).
