Albert Lea at Northfield, Jan. 27 (7:15 PM)

Spencer Klotz, Northfield

This is an interesting Big Nine Conference battle between two teams hoping to make some noise in section 1A. Even though this is a conference game, this is the only time they will face one another in the regular season. Albert Lea hopes to build momentum after a 4-1 win against Rochester John Marshall.

The Tigers' attack is led by a trio of juniors in Joseph Yoon (20-16-36), Max Edwin (8-9-17), and Tim Chalmers (11-11-22).

On the blueline, junior Josh Behrends (2-2-4) and senior Mason Studier (1-3-4) play a no-nonsense style, and they are a big reason the Tigers are killing penalties at a 90% success rate.

In the crease, junior goaltender Dakota Jahnke (.928 save percentage) has carried all of the goaltending duties this season for the Tigers.

Northfield is hoping to build on a 7-0 victory over Winona. The Raiders are led at forward by senior Spencer Klotz (18-27-45), and sophomores Kamden Kaiser (15-11-26) and Cayden Monson (9-13-22) carry most of the offense for Northfield.

On defense, sophomore Ty Frank (3-7-10) and junior Matthew DeBuse (1-6-7) do a great job denying the middle of the ice.

Between the pipes, junior goaltender Keaton Walock (.913 save percentage) has shouldered most of the goaltending load for the Raiders this season.
