Chaska at Benilde-St. Margaret's (Feb. 12, 7:00 PM)

Jack Seaverson, Chaska

This is an interesting west metro battle between Section 2AA Chaska and Section 6AA Benilde-St. Margaret's that has the makings of a statement game for either club.

The Hawks have a busy week with back-to-back games against 2AA Bloomington Jefferson to get themselves ready for this weekend's showdown against the Red Knights.

Chaska is led up front by senior Jack Seaverson (11-13-24) and sophomores Sam Scheetz (14-12-26) and Tanner Bruender (12-6-18). The Hawks have good scoring balance throughout its top two lines.

On the blueline, junior and Minnesota commit Sam Rinzel (5-21-26, #26 NHL Central Scouting) is Chaska's all situations workhorse.

Between the pipes, junior goaltender Carter Wishart (2.14 goals-against average) has had the majority of the starts this season, but the Hawks have given junior Kai Girard (.945 save percentage) some opportunities as well.

The No. 2-AA Red Knights are on a 12-game winning streak and feeling confident as they prepare for the gauntlet that is Section 6AA.

Benilde-St. Margaret's is led at forward by senior Adam Marshall (19-18-37) as well as sophomores Drew Stewart (12-21-33) and Michael Risteau (13-9-22) provide speed and skill up front.

On defense, seniors Brady Yakesh (7-24-31) and Tristan Sarsland (8-16-24, #82 NHL Central Scouting) are one of the better pairings in the state.

In the crease, sophomore goaltender Mason McElroy (1.67 goals-against-average) has been the Red Knights' anchor most of the season.
