Scores, Leaders, Pictures from Minnesota State Tourney

Oh What a Day!!!

A great day of hockey in all corners of the state. YHH was on site at all nine state tournaments that we cover. Grand Rapids and Proctor for the 12A/B girls saw some exciting games including a five overtime thriller that ended with an Izy Fairchild game winner. Plymouth hosted the Bantam and PeeWee B tournaments. Just like the high school team the Edina Hornets won in Bantams, but this time it took the Green Hornets three sessions to knock out OMG Black, Henri Denault had the GWG.

Likely the biggest "upset" of the day came in Stillwater when Eden Prairie saw a two goal lead vanish in the final minute and then beat #1 Chaska Chanhassen 26 seconds into overtime. Just like his brother two years earlier, Marcus Fechko scored a GWT in a PeeWee state tourney (Trey did it to win state in '17).

Tourney play picks up tomorrow with semifinals all over the state, winners play for bragging rights on Sunday. Good luck to all teams, congrats to the teams who lost today on a great season.
