St. Cloud takes state for second year in a row
Brian Jones led St.Cloud Area to the CI division championship with six goals and four assists as the Thunder stormed past the Thunderbolts, 16-5. Jones finished the three game tournament with 21 goals and was the tournaments leading scorer. He was supported in his teams final game success by Jordan Williams who had six points (five goals plus one assist). St. Cloud Area put the game away in the second period when they tallied eight times while shutting down the Thunderbolts. Jones and Williams teamed up for two goals 4 seconds apart in that period. Thunder teammates Adam Marshall and Janeel Denson-Byers both had two goals. South Washington County’s Tyler Tinucci had three goals for the Thunderbolts.

Brainerd proved they are a very fast starting team in winning the Adapted Floor Hockey PI Division championship. In their three games they scored 17 goals in the first period, and 37 for the tournament, an average offensive output of 12+ goals a game. They were right on their average in trouncing the Robins of Robbinsdale/Hopkins/Mound Westonka, 13-1. Seven different players scored in the final game. Tre’Von Otey, Blaise Edinger and Alex Goedker all had three goals in the game for Brainerd. The new champions scored goals back-to-back; in each period they had a pair of goals between 24-46 seconds apart. Vincent Luu had the sole Robins goal.
