Bryce Brodzinski led Blaine to a third-place finish at the Class 2A State Tournament.

There might not be a stronger bloodline in Minnesota high school hockey than the Brodzinski clan.

Jonny, Michael, and Easton Brodzinski have all made their marks at the high school level and beyond. Jonny appeared in 13 games with the Los Angeles Kings this season, Michael a high-flying defenseman in the minor leagues while waiting out a full but aging San Jose Sharks lineup, and Easton about to embark on his collegiate career at St. Cloud State.

Then there's Bryce.

Bryce Brodzinski's numbers from this season would look more at home on a team that played a schedule a quarter as harsh as the Bengals did, as the senior captain totaled 36 goals and 91 points in his final season. For his efforts, Brodzinski was not only named the Mr. Hockey Award winner but also took top honors as the Associated Press Player of the Year and USA Today Player of the Year.

As capable defensively as he is on offense, Brodzinski is lauded by opposing coaches and NHL scouts as a complete player, and one of the fiercest competitors to play against in the state.
