The Mariucci Mile, Ultimate Football, and four more games.

Without the use of the LumberYard in Stillwater on Wednesday, all participants, both Major and Minor made Mariucci Arena their home for the day, taking advantage of the facility's ample space and a second athletic structure in Dinkytown.

Between sprinting past the team photos of past Golden Gopher greats during the Mariucci Mile, taking in even more speaker sessions in the arena's club level, and testing their knowledge with a trivia competition, the Combine attendees set the turf of TCF Bank Stadium on fire. "Ultimate Football," an odd mix of Ultimate Frisbee, rugby, and football, may have been the highlight of the day. There were leaping grabs, shoestring catches, and in some cases more heated competition than on the ice. At the end of it all, Major Gold came out on top in Ultimate Football, with Minor Grey taking the title in their division.

Turf games aside, there were four on-ice matches as well.

Major Maroon scored six consecutive goals to secure a 6-1 win over Major Grey, pushing Major Maroon to a 2-1 record after three days. Michael Risteau drew first blood for Major Grey before the onslaught, with Owen Branson scoring twice and Jordan Geike, Parker Gast, John Halverson, and Tanner Bruender all chipping in single goals for Major Maroon. Major Maroon's Ben Carey handed out three assists in the win.

In a game that better resembled a teeter-totter than a hockey contest, Major White edged Major Gold 4-3. Major White took a 2-1 lead after the first half on goals by David Kukkonen and C.J. Sheffield, who scored back-to-back to erase a 1-0 deficit created by Major Gold's Lucas Miller. Zachary Wooter and Jordan Brothers scored to start the second half, putting Major Gold up 3-2 and setting the stage for Gavin Olson and Tyler Smith to score the tying and winning goals respectively for Major White.

Minor White trounced Minor Maroon 12-5 in the first game of the Minor session, with the game quickly turning into a free-for-all of celebrations, with faux boxing, golf, trap-shooting, and a sequence in which a player scored, dug the puck out of the back of the net, and placed in on the goalie's head. Michael Mathison recorded two goals and four points for Minor White, with Ryan McPartland scoring three times, Mitchell Olson and Carson Kingbay scoring twice, and Caden Schlattman, Joseph Fankhanel, and Austin Gibson each scoring once. Scoring in the loss for Minor Maroon were Brandon Mickelson, Gus Berger, Cade Sherman, Holden Pajor and Jacob Faith.

Minor Gold scored three times in the second half to pull off a come-from-behind win over Minor Grey in the final game of the day, with Luke Myers scoring the eventual game-winner with 1:09 left in regulation. Wyatt Ehrhardt tallied two goals and four points in the win for Minor Gold. Henri Ament added a single tally. Tucker Johnson scored two goals in the loss for Minor Grey, while Andrew O'Neil and Ryder McDonald scored one goal apiece.
