Model Camp 2019: Thursday Recap

Game 1: Team Royal Blue 4, Team Purple 2

Brandon Reller (Maple Grove) scored two goals to lead Team Royal Blue to a 4-2 win over Team Purple, despite sporting a set of nauseating yellow practice jerseys on Thursday afternoon. Reller scored the tying and go-ahead goals for Team Royal Blue, while Lucky Bischoff (Grand Rapids) tacked on an empty-net goal to cement the win. A.J. LeMire (Centennial) scored the first goal of the game for Team Royal Blue. Scoring for Team Purple were Charlie Bischel (Benilde-St. Margaret's) and William Matzke (Blake).

Game 2: Team Red 5, Team White 2

Team Red scored four consecutive goals to pull away from Team White in a 5-2 win, paced by Charlie Strobel's (Hill-Murray) two goals. Cullen Hiltner (St. Cloud Cathedral) sparked the offensive onslaught with a goal for Team Red, followed by a tally by Sam Janski (Park Cottage Grove. Austin Stoneking (Lakeville South) puts Team White up 2-1 before Hiltner's goal, with Team White's first goal coming from Henry Bartle (Centennial). Jack Sabre (Blake) recorded the first goal of the game for Team Red.  


Jack Sabre scored once for Team Red on Thursday afternoon.

Game 3: Team Yellow 6, Team Green 1

Despite going up 1-0 on a goal by Dominic Valento (Owatonna) in the first half, Team Green crumbled down the stretch, allowing Team Yellow to score six goals in the second half to cruise to a 6-1 victory. All six of Team Yellow's goals came at even strength. 

Adam Marshall (Benilde-St. Margaret's) scored two goals and assisted on another to lead the scoresheet for Team Yellow, with single goals coming from Bolly Rose (White Bear Lake), Jacob Schneider (Wayzata), Michael Doshan (Mound Westonka), and Noah Griswold (Holy Angels). Emmett Wurst (Edina) handed out two assists in the win, and Team Yellow goaltender Aksel Reid allow zero goals during his half of play between the pipes.  


Adam Marshall led Team Yellow with two goals and an assist in Thursday's win over Team Green.

Game 4: Team Light Blue 7, Team Black 2

Edina's Nate Stone and Eden Prairie's Drew Holt put on a show in the final Model Camp matchup of the evening, combining for three goals and seven points in Team Light Blue's 7-2 win over Team Black. East Ridge's Marco Troje also chipped in two goals for Team Light Blue and scored the first goal of the game at the 13:00 mark of the first half. Troje's second goal bookended the first half, with a score from Team Light Blue's Lyncoln Bielenberg-Howarth (Rochester Century) and a tally from Team Black's Nolan Christy (Apple Valley) between Troje's goals. 

Stone kicked off the second half for Team Light Blue with his first goal, followed by Logan Gravink (Andover) before Stone scored again. Holt's first goal came with just under 10 minutes left in the game to push the Light Blue lead to 7-1. Eden Prairie's Oliver Jorgensen scored in the final minute to give Team Black its second goal for the 7-2 final.    


Nate Stone of Light Blue ranks as one of Model Camp's leading scorers.
