Jimmy Clark, Sharks
Eight games and 70 goals in just under 15 hours...a big day of hockey in Mendota Heights. The Sharks got off to a fast start outscoring opponents 21-4 in their first three games. Just like last year, the Sharks led by future HS Elite League players Adam Marshall and Hayden Walters - the 2019 team is off to a red-hot start.
The rest of the league has a lot to build on - every team has tasted some success so far and shown that no one team can sweep the league like last year's 15-1 Great Plains team.
Wisconsin got back on the winning track Saturday night beating the Bolts 5-2. Wisco is 2-1 and could head east Sunday with a win over the winless Rangers. The Penguins are also undefeated beating the North Stars 7-4. They face North Dakota Sunday, with the winner in a good spot heading into weekend two in Richfield.
Only one person can say they saw all 8 games and spent all 14 hours at the rink. That was YHH's own Todd Hauch. Here is his Top 3.
Drum roll please....
3. Wyatt Albrecht (Bruins) - Todd says, "four assist games are rare...great performance, could have had two our three more."
2. Ty James (Wisconsin) - Had five points in two games, Todd say, "the kid is from Council Bluffs, IA and plays for Wisconsin...he's going to give Minnesota kids fits in this league."
1. Jimmy Clark (Sharks) - A special team with a handful of studs up front (Oliver Moore, Devin Cardenas, Tommy Cronin, etc) Clark had a big day. Todd says, "holy cow...we almost ran out of ink writing seven on the score sheet so many time."
William Whitelaw had 5 points for the Bruins including a pure hat trick in the first half.
