Kings, Sharks Earn Wins In Wild Tuesday Night

No lead is safe in the Bantam Elite League.

The Penguins gave the Kings all they could handle in the second half of Tuesday's metro battle, tallying three goals in the last 11 minutes of regulation to pull within one goal before time ran out on a 7-6 loss for the Pens.

The Kings took a 5-1 lead after the first half thanks to the continued offensive dominance of linemates Gavyn Thoreson and Landen Gunderson. Thoreson scored two goals in the opening frame, with Gunderson chipping in a goal and the Kings getting single scores from Caden Sampair and Trey Gentz. Cooper Conway scored the lone Penguins' goal of the half.

Ty Tuccitto put the Penguins on the board early in the second half to cut the score down to 5-2, but Sampair notched his second of the game to bring the Kings' lead back to four goals at 6-2. Carter Krenke and Thoreson traded goals after Sampair's goal, making the score 7-3 midway through the half. Eli Miller, Cooper Conway, and Gavin Reed scored in that order for the Penguins' last three goals, and a mad dash at the end of regulation came up just short with an extra attacker for the Pens.

Players and fans were treated to another dramatic finish on Tuesday night, as the Sharks prevailed over the Bolts 7-6 in a shootout. The Bolts took a 6-4 lead on a Ty Henricks goal with just over six minutes realigning in the second half, but the Sharks refused to sink, getting goals from Gavin Hanson and Kellen Stokes to force the extra session. Devin Cardenas was the lone goal-scorer in the shootout, as Sharks goaltender Carsen Musser and Bolts netminder Sam Stockman denied every shot but one.

Sharks forward Oliver Moore was named Player of the Game with a hat-trick and assist, while Cardenas also tallied a goal in regulation. Jake Fisher of the Bolts scored two goals and dished out two assists, while Charlie Olsen and Kyle Doll chipped in a goal each. Olsen also finished with two assists in the loss.
