Peewee Challenge Enters Sixth Year

It may not be kind, but numbers are numbers, and history is history.

Each year, the teams in the Peewee Challenge are named based on a common theme. Past themes have included collegiate programs, past Minnesota state high school champions, and high schools that no longer exist.

This season, the Peewee Challenge theme is teams that have never won a state championship, a tongue-in-cheek nod to some of the state's most storied programs who haven't won it all...yet. The good news, however, is that at least one group will able to erase the goose egg this weekend.

The tournament will hit the ice for the sixth year, bringing together some of the top Peewee-aged hockey players in Minnesota together for a batch of games in Bloomington. Across the four divisions, there are 20 teams that all feature excellent players, making for a rollicking three days at historic Bloomington Ice Garden.
