Andover captures 12A title while Osseo-Maple Grove claims 10A crown.

10A: Osseo-Maple Grove 4, Blaine/Spring Lake Park 0

What could be ruder of a host team than to breeze through four of its five tournament games?

Osseo-Maple Grove played the part this weekend, blanking Blaine/Spring Lake Park 4-0 on Sunday afternoon to earn the 10A title of the third annual Danglefest. The win was the second for the Leafbirds over BSLP, as the teams battled to a 3-2 final in the tournament's first game.

Tournament Most Valuable Player Harper Wieneke scored first to open the game for the Leafbirds, who poured on the attack but were stalled by BSLP goaltender Brynn MacKinnon until late in the second period. All-Tournament selection Hadley Bakker scored late in the second stanza to stretch the OMG lead to 2-0.

Two goals from Keira Thompson cemented the win for the Leafbirds, as well as the final 4-0 score of the game.

12A Championship: Andover 3, Edina 0

In a recurring theme of the weekend, Andover helped the arena keep electrical costs down, not allowing a goal and saving the scoreboards bulbs from being overworked.

The Huskies allowed just two goals through five games thanks to the outstanding goaltending of Layla Hemp, who posted her third shutout in the title game.

Avery Brown scored with 11 seconds left in the first period to give Andover a 1-0 lead, and the momentum, heading into the second period. Tournament MVP Avery Kasick extended the Huskies' lead to 2-0 in the third, and Maya Engler put the cherry on top with an empty-netter to ice the win.

The Huskies outscored the opposition 18-2 over the five tournament games and did not allow a goal over their final six periods of play.
