Peyton Hemp led Andover to its first state title with three goals and four points in the Class 2A State Tournament semifinals and finals.

Andover's Hemp Named 2020 GHS POTY

With a full season of high school eligibility remaining, Andover’s Peyton Hemp doesn’t have much left to accomplish in terms of awards and accolades.

The dominant junior forward has been a state champion at the 12U and 15U levels, and last March, led the Huskies to the school’s first Class 2A state championship after dethroning three-time defending champ Edina 5-3. Hemp and the Huskies finished the 2019-2020 season with a record of 28-2

Hemp racked up 28 goals and 57 points during her junior campaign, which included her absence for four games last winter while she and Team USA were capturing the goal medal at the 2020 Women’s World Junior Championships. Like all truly great players, Hemp’s level of play advanced with the stakes of the season. In six postseason games, all win-or-go-home contests, Hemp scored eight goals and handed out seven assists.

The Minnesota commit was named First Team All-Metro by the Minneapolis Star-Tribune and picked up All-State honors as well.

Over the course of her career, Hemp has netted 84 goals and 173 points in 85 games.  She is an obvious candidate for the 2021 Ms. Hockey Award.

Hemp earned a gold medal with Team USA at the 2020 Women's World Junior Championships.
